This year has been a time of great uncertainty and, at times, great difficulty. Despite many challenges, NICET certified technicians, technologists, test takers, and the communities that depend on you have shown tremendous resolve. Through it all, our shared dedication to the work and commitment to our mission have never wavered. In the face of unpredictable and often dangerous conditions, you continued to apply the highest engineering principles and practices for the benefit and safety of the public.
The NICET Board of Governors and staff commends your efforts through all of this. We know that celebrations may look different this year, but we wish you all a very happy holiday season with hopes for a more prosperous new year.
We thank you for your patience through testing delays, stoppages, and restrictions, and we wish to offer special thanks to the volunteers who served as Subject Matter Experts (SME) throughout the year. We are also grateful to the many organizations who employed and/or supported these SMEs while they assisted NICET. Without your assistance, NICET certification would not be the recognized standard in engineering technology certification.
The obstacles created by this pandemic have forced all of us to approach our work differently. At NICET, it has spurred an evolution in the way examinations are developed and delivered. We are excited to offer you improved service as a result of these changes, and we look forward to all that we will accomplish together in 2021.
Sincerely,
Paul J. Inferrera, SET, Chair, Board of Governors
