New Senior Director, Credentials and Administration - Chip Hollis

Charles (Chip) Hollis was promoted to Senior Director, Credentials and Administration. Mr. Hollis is responsible for implementing the policies and directions established by the NICET Board of Governors and daily operations. He promotes the value of NICET certification to technicians, employers, contract specifiers, AHJs and other stakeholders. He strives to create a customer friendly environment and improve processes while preserving the rigor and integrity of NICET certifications.

Here are some highlights of Mr. Hollis’s previous accomplishments as staff at NICET:

• Re-established the newsletter, News from NICET, in an electronic format.
• Created first online application for exam registration and certification payment.
• Developed and implemented communications plan for transition from Work Element/Paper Pencil to Standard Model/Computer-Based exams.
• Built NICET’s first database-driven item banking (certification questions and exam forms) system.
• Managed four website redesigns, including a transition to a content management system that allows staff to efficiently make changes and regular updates.
• Lead the transition to NICET’s new database system and customer portal that streamlines the application process and provides additional transparency for customer progress towards certification.
