Update and maintenance for Fire Alarm Systems and Water-Based Systems Layout is underway. This round of maintenance includes all of the fire protection programs and includes an update to newer codes and standards. We expect updated exams in early 2018.
NICET continues the conversion of Work Element programs to the Standard Model format using computer-based delivery (Standard Model/CBT). Highway Construction Inspection, as part of the Transportation Construction Inspection (TCI) group along with Construction Materials Testing (CMT) are the final programs for this project.
New exams for Highway Construction Inspection Levels I and II are available now. Exams for Level III and IV will be available in FALL 2017. Additional programs may be added, per the TCI program outline, over the next two to four years.
New exams for Level I in all three specialties are available now! NICET is conducting question writing, review and score setting sessions for higher levels over the next several weeks. New exams will be released over the next several months.
Returning applicants may continue to test in the Work Element format for Highway Construction and CMT through 2017. All new applicants must take the new Standard Model/CBT exams.
